This Privacy Policy describes how the OppScope browser extension (“Extension”) processes information.
1) What we collect
– Web page content and URL of the active tab: Only when you click the extension popup or explicitly inject content into a running voice session. We parse visible text to detect product/search terms and, where applicable, send a summarized/sanitized representation to our backend for analysis you request.
– Product/market data: When you trigger a search/analysis, we fetch public pages from Amazon and Alibaba and compute derived metadata (e.g., ratings/popularity signals, image-derived features, fee estimates). We may store your saved analyses to your OppScope account.
– Authentication token: If you sign in to OppScope in your browser, the Extension stores a token in localStorage (within the extension context) to authenticate calls to the OppScope backend.
– Microphone audio (optional): If you enable voice chat, we capture mic audio while the session is active and stream it via a secure WebRTC session for AI processing. Disable/end voice to stop capture.
2) How we use information
– To provide core functionality: detect relevant product terms; fetch public results from Amazon/Alibaba; compute Amazon fee estimates via the Seller Central public estimator; generate keyword suggestions; and present comparable items and analytics in OppScope.
– To operate the voice feature: If enabled, your audio is processed in real time to produce responses and tool calls.
– To store your work: If you choose to save an analysis, we store it to your OppScope account.
3) Data sharing and processors
– OppScope backend (oppscope.com and subdomains): Used for AI assistance, currency maps, predictive models, saving searches/analyses, and user task queues.
– Amazon endpoints: We call Amazon’s public pages (.co.uk, .com, .de, .fr), auto-complete (completion.amazon.co.uk), and Seller Central endpoints to return suggestions and FBA/MFN fee estimates.
– Alibaba: We request public search/product pages to populate wholesale options.
– AI voice provider: For voice sessions only, microphone audio and chat events are streamed to the AI provider via a secure session. We do not store your audio. The third-party provider may have its own processing/retention practices—please refer to their policy.
4) Cookies and storage
– Cookies: We do not read or write cookies directly. Browser-managed cookies for Amazon/Alibaba may accompany our cross-origin requests.
– Local storage: We store only your OppScope auth token and ephemeral session state. You can remove it by logging out in the OppScope web app or removing the extension.
5) Retention
– Web page content: Used ephemerally for the current analysis or chat injection. Not retained unless part of a saved analysis you initiate.
– Saved analyses: Retained in your OppScope account until you delete them.
– Audio (voice): Not stored by the Extension. Any retention by the AI provider is subject to their policy.
6) Security
– We use HTTPS for production endpoints.
7) Your choices
– Do not start voice chat if you don’t want mic access; revoke mic in Chrome settings at any time.
– Do not click the extension on pages you do not want analyzed.
– Delete saved analyses from your OppScope account when desired.
8) Children’s privacy
– Not directed to children under applicable ages; do not use if you are under the minimum age.
